Medical Oncology

We offer ‘Follow-up’ Consultations to help with ongoing case management. Options include a written follow-up or phone call + written follow-up. To schedule a call to discuss the case, use our calendar here. Each Follow-up contact is $35.

In order to provide accurate advice for ongoing case management (via email or phone) please let us know what has changed since our last contact. Just send over any new information (records, files) using our consult form. We will provide an official report for all follow-ups to ensure nothing is missed or misinterpreted and keep records as complete as possible.

A follow-up fee will be added for each contact after the first consultation. Recommendations will be documented in an official report (for your reference), which will be emailed to you; text updates available as well. We are available to help interpret blood work for a patient receiving chemotherapy, manage a patient receiving chemotherapy, assess response to chemotherapy, assess the ‘next best options’ for a patient with cancer, etc.

QUESTION 09

What are your hours?

I currently complete consults one day per week. Check the banner at the top of the page to see when the next consulting day is scheduled.

QUESTION 10

Why should I choose Vet Cancer Consultants?

Medical oncology is a vast and often confusing field. It can also be difficult to keep up with all of the latest publications. I can help guide you through all of this information, allow you to give your clients the answers they're seeking, and do that quickly.

My consultations are incredibly thorough. I not only include the latest research, but numerous options. Cancer treatment is not one-size-fits-all (nor one budget fits all for that matter), and I understand that. I will give you real options for the patient you are treating, not just the disease.

I am committed to helping you continue to provide the highest level of care for all of your patients.

QUESTION 11

Tips for helping us give you a great consult!

- The more information you can provide the easier it is for me to give you a great consult!

- Measure tumors prior to surgery and on exam using calipers, in two dimensions

- Measure enlarged lymph nodes on exam using calipers, record longest dimension

- Use the same scale to weigh chemo patients at each visit for consistency

- Please have radiographs read by a board certified radiologist and send the rads and report

Whether you’re looking for guidance for a newly diagnosed cancer patient, want help making a diagnosis, or assistance with ongoing patient care, we’ve got you covered.
